What is it?
A safe, reversible, injectable purified protein complex that reduces the activity of the muscles that causes wrinkles to form over time. There are multiple uses of Botox and Dysport in the medical field. For our purpose Botox Cosmetic and Dysport are used to improve the appearance of forehead wrinkles, frown lines, and “crows feet” wrinkles around the eyes.  Botox and Dysport work by temporarily blocking the transmission of nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces the activity of the muscles that cause the lines to form in the first place, to restore a smooth, natural look. Because the muscles are able to “recover” from this blockage over time, the effects of Botox and Dysport are not permanent.

Is it safe?
Botox Cosmetic and Dysport injections are very SAFE. Millions of people worldwide have received Botox Cosmetic® since its FDA approval in 2002. Dysport, a similar neurotoxin received its FDA approval several years later. Neurotoxins, as they are called are the most sought after cosmetic procedure available. As with any medical procedures, adverse side effects are possible. Complications from Botox and Dysport injections are RARE but may include:  · Bruising,  swelling,  infection at the injection site, headache, temporary upper eyelid drop·  Given that Botox and Dysport only work temporarily potential complications would be short lived, and last only days to weeks.

What to expect during a treatment.
The procedure takes just a few minutes after the initial consultation.  The procedure requires no anesthesia.  We will determine where to administer the injections by examining your ability to move certain muscles in the treatment area. After the procedure there is no recovery time, and results will start to be noticed within a few days up to 2 weeks. We do only ask that you not lay flat, bend over at the waist or massage the treated areas for 4hours.  After this no special care is needed.  Treatments will last up to 4 months, though some patients will notice a more prolonged response after several rounds of treatment. Treatments will need to be repeated based on your response to the injections to maintain your “new look.”

What is it?
These fillers are an injectable gel that contain a substance called hyaluronic acid.  This is a substance that is naturally produced in your skin that we lose over time due to aging, among other factors.  We have developed a way to restore this substance in the skin with a very safe, natural way to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth(nasolabial folds), smile lines, folds in the corners of the mouth and for lip enhancement.

Is it safe?
Hyaluronic acid fillers are very safe.  Since it is a substance that is natural to your skin, allergic reactions are very rare.  After treatment, you might have some temporary bruising, redness, swelling or tenderness.  These are typically mild in severity lasting a few days to a week.  Most people find that there is very little significant "downtime".

What to expect during a treatment:
A consultation will be done prior to treatment to discuss your needs and develop expectations for results.  Results are seen immediately and is cumulative with the amount of product used.  For deeper folds and lines, more filler will yield better results.  During treatment you will be seated comfortably upright in a chair.  We will discuss need for topical anesthesia at your consultation.  Many people find this is not necessary.  The products come mixed with lidocaine to make them more comfortable.  There is a tiny injection and some burning at the product is injected.  This is very well tolerated.  There may be some swelling, redness and bruising that will last for a few days to a week after treatment, this is usually minor and "coverable", though some people experience worse bruising.  It is best advised to avoid aspirin, advil, ibuprofen, etc for a few days before and after your treatment to avoid bruising, though you can still do treatment despite using these products.
